Here is a project I've been wanting to try. Working title: Love Letter Calendar. Inspired by the idea of a surprise-filled advent calendar, this is envisioned as a gift for a very special person in the life of the giver, especially a person who is far away.
Each month's collage would contain an envelope that can be stuffed with a surprise and sealed up, not to be opened until that month arrives. It might be a letter, a poem, a photograph, a memory. Each collage would also contain a way for the recipient of the calendar to respond to the giver, such as this mini-envelope of stamps, or a postcard.
