Its the theme of the day here at the Garden, and its been the theme of the week here in Victoria, BC. Supposedly it doesn't snow much here, but we have the photos to prove otherwise. Those of you back in Boston and vicinity, enjoying those 70 degree temps, may need some phony snow to get you in the holiday spirit.
So, if you need a refresher course on making your own paper snowflakes, you'll find some good instructions here for folding and cutting a six-pointed snowflake, complete with examples. I would add: do yourself a favor. Use thin, tissue-type paper and make them big. Its easier to fold bigger, thinner sheets, and its also easier to cut through them.
Here are a few of mine. If you have other snowflake ideas you wouldn't mind sharing, why not post a comment? Or if you like, email me a picture so I can show off your talents!*

Nice snow flakes E!
I started a portrait of Izabella yesterday. I'll try to scan it in a bit and send it along.
This sounds like a great idea. We don't have a craft project today, but Cookie and I are going skating in a few minutes (at a rink, of course, since temperatures are positively sultry).
PS - maybe we'll make some snowflakes tonight!
Love what you are doing ER! In a couple of weeks I am having the neices and nephews over to make gingerbread houses out of graham crackers. I'll send some pics along.
I see you have visited Penelope's Tate calendar. Thanks, I was looking for her. Happy Holidays!
Hey Ellen - So glad you're doing this!! Really nice snow illustration.
Tonight we're pulling out all our holiday bling and we have a box of snowflakes we cut last year. I'll send a photo once they're up...
Looking forward to a month of ideas from you!
What a great idea, Ellen! And thanks for the refresher course on making snowflakes. I am going to show Theo and we will make some this week-end.
Hey Ellen! great idea! I look forward to the rest of the posts...and hopefully you'll inspire me to create, as well...-Lauren
What a fabulous idea Ellen. I am going to try and make snowflakes with Abigail. I will have to do the cutting for her though. :-) We love your artwork, as always.
Hi Ellen,
Thanks for reminding me about snowflakes! Emma and I made a bunch and she taped them to her wall.
